Collects metadata for Ruby gems from the official public RubyGems API (rubygems.org/api/v1) — no key required, no HTML scraping.

For each gem you get total & latest-version downloads, authors, license, homepage/source/docs/changelog/bug-tracker links, runtime and development dependencies, and (optionally) the version history: total version count, first/latest release dates, latest prerelease, and required Ruby version.
